I eat eggs almost every day and I am so grateful to these splendid little beings. The sound of chooks clucking is so homie (not so much roosters lol) - and their waddle 🥹 Chooks are an adorable kind of busy, pecking about for worms and bugs. Such sweetheart energy 🙌

When you remember the world is magical just the way it is 🌊 Say hello to the Coorong. Where I grew up. Paddocks across a dirt road from this wild stretch of water. How lucky are we on this planet that every night is sunset 🙌 my favourite light.

At some events there is laughing, crying, deep breaths and big vulnerability. Those days stay with you.
Last year I photographed my sister @alexh.co book launch in Melbourne - and writing and self-publishing a book is no small thing. It took years of work, courage, and a whole lot of vulnerability made visible to everyone. On and top of the book she had her glass pleasure collection, and clothing and jewellery @darethelabel.co there ⚡️ It was a huge moment for her I am SO PROUD. Also her good friend @clareelizabeth_dea absolutely rocked being MC 🙌

When photography meets graphic design ~ event application 🖤

Nature is brutal 🌊 in an ‘it is what it is’ kind of way.
When this little seal made its way over to the mum and pup lying on the beach, I thought I was about to witness a really cute moment. Then I watched what happened through my camera and felt devastated. They told the little seal to go away 😳 Sometimes things are heart breaking - not because anyone did anything wrong, it’s simply the way events unfold. I watched the little guy head back to the water and felt so lonely. It’s all part of life 🤍

Ever had a photographer deliver stunning shots… that you can’t crop into a landscape banner, a story, a square ad, or a PDP infographic without losing everything? 😅
Shooting for ecom (or any business that needs images across multiple placements) is a genuinely different way of shooting. You have to frame the shot whilst already imagining the crop, and that means some images arrive with lots of gorgeous negative space rather than looking like they belong above the mantle.
That’s not a compromise. That’s the whole point. 🙌
I shoot for both - the frame-worthy portrait and the image that works across every placement your business needs.

I had the privilege of shooting with this angel for @apotecaribioactivehaircare a couple of years ago. How time flies 🕊️

There are things we’re taught to hide.
To manage quietly. To be embarrassed by. To never speak of in certain company or let show in certain situations.
Periods are one of them.
I filmed this because, as Brene Brown says, shame cannot survive in the light. When we shed light on something shrouded in shame, the weight lifts. I wanted to show the beauty that lives in the monthly bleed. The female cycle is not dirty. It is not disgusting.
It is an essential sign of fertility and health in women. It is ancient. It is yours ♥️

What I am loving🪽about living in the mid north coast NSW is being surrounded by beautiful nooks to shoot in by rivers, creeks, beach coves, dirt roads, gum trees and rainforest.

These two are so beautiful together, and on shoots like this I do try to capture different aspects of the connection. It’s so epic seeing the different sides to people show in photos - like for a couple going from playful to intimate to steamy to supportive 🥹 love those wow moments when I feel the gravity of a photo 🖤

My partner caught sight of this place out of the corner of his eye whilst we were driving the van across Kangaroo Island. The following night we stayed with my cousin there, who told us about the salt lakes and gave us a bag of salt they collected from a lake on a friends property 😍 I absolutely love the colours of South Aus. Not complaining about the rainfall on the east coast by any means, but sometimes a break from GREEN is nice 💛🤎

Working on my parent’s farm in SA this time last year. It was dry, drought dry. They’d planted trees in a salt patch that helps transform that area from swampie soil to shade for cows. The seedlings were struggling, so @seany_b_randall and I were tasked with taking the fire truck out and getting them some water. Since I could barely reach the pedals of the huge truck 😅 I was on the back. I think it’s hard to imagine the level of self responsibility you have living on a farm if you’ve always been in cities - but having a fire unit to go on the back of a ute or set up like this is essential, as you’re simply a long way from the local fire services, and would want your own facilities for burn piles etc.
I was still working part time online during those two months, but they showed me how much I’ve missed being outside and getting a bit filthy !
And a little nod to ibis, who I always thought were such beautiful, elegant and welcome birds on the farm. It was horrifying to discover what bin chickens were when I moved to Sydney! I was pssst guys 👀 what are you doing in the bins 🥺🤍

The bush dance for my parents birthday 🤠
Event photography has such a thrill of spontaneity about it 🦋 and this was extra special with family and friends I grew up with, many farmers and former farmers, and cousins I hadn’t seen in an age. Held at little Narrung Hall where I know almost all the last names of people recorded on the plaques lining the walls.
The epic five-piece band, The Wild Matildas Bush Band from the Adelaide Hills, had me in tears of laughter with their dancing directions and led everyone so well.
